Setting a direction and weighing which initiative to undertake in your community can be overwhelming. Places+Spaces is a comprehensive modelling and decision-making tool designed to evaluate the effects of policy and development options.
Places+Spaces assesses alternative development pathways. Pathways are framed with respect to levers (policy options, investment choices in social and physical infrastructure) and impacts (community well-being, resource consumption and financial viability).
Places+Spaces traces the complex relationships between levers and impacts. It is a simulation model that incorporates community-specific data in assessing economic, infrastructure, health, ecosystem, energy, emissions and quality of life outcomes of a policy or development decision.
Places+spaces was developed by a unique public/policy research partnership between researchers, planners and modellers. We are grateful for the funding from the Canada Foundation for Innovation and the leadership of the Principal Investigator, Dr. AnnDale, Royal Roads University.
